About the department (KSP)

The Department of Administrative Law primarily provides the teaching of compulsory courses (Administrative Law 1 to Administrative Law 4) representing one of the key - backbone - public law components of legal studies (completed with a mandatory state final exam in administrative law), and then also the teaching of compulsory courses in the field of environmental law .

In addition, the department offers a number of specialized (typically one-semester) courses, through which students can expand their knowledge in sub-areas of public administration (Municipal law, Law-making in public administration, Administrative processes according to the administrative code...), in the area of ​​environmental protection ( Water law, Agricultural, breeding and hunting law...) or perhaps in the complex world of public regulation of technological sectors (Public regulation of industrial activity).

In addition to students of the Faculty of Law (whether legal or public administration), the department also provides teaching of legal subjects for students of other fields of the University of West Bohemia (for example, Administrative Law for Geomatics at the Faculty of Applied Sciences).

The department consists of both academically respected experts in the position of professor and associate professor, as well as other leading representatives of the domestic legal world (for example, two of the three current presidents of the Supreme Administrative Court work on it). Its scientific-pedagogical core consists primarily of "post-doc" workers (holders of "major doctorates") who not only teach individual courses guaranteed by the department, but also actively participate in current literary-scientific legal production (including participation in a number of professional conferences, symposia, etc. .).
Part of the work of the department is also assessment and analytical activity (for public administration and for the private sphere), last but not least, the members of the department are also involved in a number of scientific and research grants.

With its daily activities, the department strives to be not only functional and functioning, but also a modern and accessible part of our faculty.
