Department of International Law

About the department (KMP)

The Department of International Law has defacto two parts that teach public international law and private international law. From the point of view of history, it is possible to mention that when the ZCU Faculty of Law was founded, the head of the Department of International Law was Prof. doc. JUDr. Balaš, CSc. (Minister of Education) and such personalities as Prof. JUDr. Vladimír Kopal, DrSc., prof. JUDr. Zdeněk Kučera, DrSc. and prof. JUDr. Monika Pauknerová, DrSc., when they were internationalists who were and are globally known personalities with an extremely high reputation in the internationalist legal community. Currently, the Department of International Law is composed of recognized experts, both in the field of public international law and private international law. This is of course reflected in the teaching, not only of the core subjects, which are MPS and MPV, but also in the teaching of elective subjects that complement the spectrum of subjects taught by the Department of International Law. Members of the department publish the results of their scientific work in domestic and foreign professional periodicals and participate in international conferences organized on issues of international law. The goal of the department's teaching is to arouse interest among law students in this legal discipline and to pass on the experience that the members of the department have.
